Jan Melichar passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 31 August 2025. He was on a bicycle ride with friends and only 57 years old. Jan was a larger-than-life character in many of our lives. He is survived by his wife Rosemary and his children Charlie, Ania, Alex, Robert and Thomas. Missed by his parents, Krystyna and Adam, his brother Alex, sister-in-law Veronica, and nephews Adam and Lukas. He had many friends who loved him dearly. His family ask that all who loved Jan feel welcome to attend his funeral and reception on Monday 20th October at 11am at Holy Trinity Church, Westbury-on-Trym. His groundbreaking national work in substance misuse will continue.
