What does a Dignity funeral director do?

Here at W. S. Bond Funeral Directors, we are sometimes asked “what does a funeral director do?”, or “what's a typical day for a funeral director?”
Support the family...
It's a 24-hour day here at W. S. Bond Funeral Directors. At least one funeral director remains on call outside our normal opening hours, meaning there's always someone available to help. Whether it's four o'clock in the afternoon or four o'clock in the morning, we are able to collect the deceased, meet the family and begin to offer support.

Caring for the deceased is a critical part of the role, but it's just as important to care for those who have been left behind. Our funeral directors have a responsibility to reassure the family, help to ease their burden and give them the confidence they need to make difficult choices regarding the funeral.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
When planning, we take the time to understand what the deceased meant to the family, to make sure the funeral reflects this. It's all part of the service W. S. Bond Funeral Directors provides to the local Acton community.

But that's not all; as part of the support our funeral directors offer to families dealing with the loss of a loved one, they also help with the administrative side of bereavement. This includes the necessary paperwork and giving advice on how to complete it.

The care our funeral directors offer is universal, with every person receiving the same high-quality treatment as part of our 'care of the deceased' process.

From the moment of collection through to the final goodbye, our teams perform their duties to the highest standards. Our funeral arrangers, embalmers and operatives work to ensure that a loved one is looked after in accordance with the family's wishes.

Being a part of Dignity means that our funeral directors are always on hand to support and give a little something back to the community. Whether it's working with local care homes, training the clergy in funeral procedures, or advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved.

W. S. Bond Funeral Directors is thankful to the Acton community for allowing us to support them during difficult times.
