Michael John Dorey (Mike), son of Kath and Walter (also known as Mike) and brother of Rob, sadly passed away at home in St Paul’s Cray, Orpington on 2nd April 2025.
Mike was born on August 16th 1967 in Sidcup. He graduated from Westminster University with a degree in Information Systems Engineering. He worked first at Silica Systems in Sidcup, followed by spells at the Medical Research Council based near Regent’s Park and then at the BBC in central London.
Mike lived life to the full – travelling extensively, writing an IT blog, creating his own music and spending time with friends and family. He had a great sense of humour, he was interested in people and could always strike up a conversation with anyone, even perfect strangers!
His funeral will take place on Friday 9th May 2025 at 3:15pm at Eltham Crematorium and then afterwards at the Crown pub in Chislehurst, where those who knew Mike will meet to reminisce, raise a glass or two and celebrate a life well-lived.
