Elizabeth (Betty) Webster passed away peacefully on 2 June 2024. She had just celebrated her 95th birthday with a lovely meal on the beach at Riley's Fish Shack in Tynemouth (one of her favourite places).
Betty was born on 31 May 1929 in Durham. She was a young girl during the war and still had vivid memories including funny stories about her father sitting covered in soot after the chimney had collapsed during a bombing raid.
In 1953 she married Geoff after meeting at the Oxford ballrooms in Newcastle and they went on to have two children, Ian and Neil.
Betty was predeceased by Geoff and Ian. She is survived by Neil, five wonderful grandsons (Paul, John, Richard, Jack and Luke) and three gorgeous great-granddaughters (Hope, Nell and Skye), all of whom loved her dearly.
Betty was a very independant and strong woman, with that gentle strength that women possess. She was an inspiration to many and will be sadly missed.
