Captain Tim Lee RN (Retired) died peacefully at Kilfillan Nursing Home in Berkhamsted on July 2nd, 2025, at the age of 88, after a short battle with cancer.
A loving husband to Sue, and father to Peter and Simon, he was a larger than life character who embraced life and won the appreciation and respect of those he encountered along the way.
His achievements were many: serving as a navigator on HMS Ark Royal and within the submarine service; commanding HMS Gurkha during the Cod Wars with Iceland; fundraising in the non-profit sector after leaving the Navy; chairing the Dorset Opera Festival, and saving the Stalbridge Library from closure.
