ROGER LESLIE THULBOURNE

Passed away on 3rd February 2026, aged 80 years.
Born 29th December 1945 in Ten Mile Bank to Stanley and Rose Thulbourne (née Reynolds).
Roger worked as a farmer before later becoming a lorry driver. He had a lifelong love of trains, beginning with train spotting in his childhood. He also enjoyed football and cricket, along with vintage tractor shows and ploughing matches with his little grey Ferguson and his 35. In later years, he returned to his passion for railways, regularly visiting Sheringham and building his own model railway. He was delighted to have travelled twice on his favourite locomotive, the Flying Scotsman. Roger was also a lifelong supporter of Manchester United F.C..
Devoted husband of Carol for 59 years. Much loved dad of Alan and Sally-Anne, father-in-law to Jennifer and Neil. Loving grandad of Carolyn, Ryan and Nathan, and great-grandad of Leon, Annie-May, Finn and Bump. Dear brother of Stewart.
Funeral service to be held on Thursday 5th March 2026 at 12 midday at Downham Methodist Church, followed by a private family cremation at Mintlyn. Reception from 2pm at The Foldgate Inn, Stradsett.
Gentlemen are kindly invited to wear a red tie and ladies a red carnation in memory of Roger, reflecting his lifelong support of Manchester United.
