It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Hoult (84). 

 
Richard had not been himself since just after Christmas, with a recent stay in GWH Swindon. Having returned home in early March, he passed peacefully at home and without pain on 5th April 2025, with his immediate family beside him.
 
He will be remembered for the smiling, kind, supportive, energetic, encouraging and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and cousin that he was; these traits were ever present in who he was throughout his life, even at the very end.
 
In life, Richard had regularly supported a number of charities, with the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance being one of those. The Air Ambulance had to attend him during his last few days, so it is appropriate that this vital service is the family's nominated charity of choice on his behalf.
 
Richard's family are obviously shocked at the speed with which he has finally passed, and ask for privacy at this point, whilst they remember a man who was so openly giving, sociable and engaging, and who only ever saw the very best in the people he met. He was one in a million.
