David Grimley 3rd February 1949 - 5th June 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Dave Grimley announces his death, at the age of 76.
He passed away quickly and peacefully after a period of illness, thankfully with family around him.
Dave leaves his wife of 52 years, Pat, his son Keith (Sophie) and daughter Helen (Dan) as well as his four grandchildren; Benjamin and Alice, Beatrix and Jemima.
He was born in Coventry and raised his family in Seaford, East Sussex, his home for 42 years, from where he volunteered as a school Governor, swimming instructor and later with a community garden.
Dave was a mechanical engineer and project manager who began his career in the automotive industry with Dunlop in the West Midlands, followed by 24 years at Parker Pen in Newhaven and retirement from Salter (Homedics) in September 2010.
A lifelong fan of Coventry City FC and an enthusiastic amateur sportsman throughout his life, Dave played football, table tennis, badminton and for almost 15 years was a member of The Crouch Bowls Club where he played an active role in project managing the building of an all-new clubhouse.
Dave will be remembered fondly for his smile, sense of humour, honesty and loyalty to those he loved and called his friends.
