It is with great sadness that Howard Edward Sambell passed away on 5th August 2025 at Llandough Hospital, aged 94.
Howard was born in Taffs Well but lived in Tongwynlais for 70 years. He was the leader of the 1st Tongwynlais and Taffs Well Scouts for a number of years.
Devoted Husband of the late Etty, much loved Dad to Stephen and Colin and much loved Father in Law to Elaine and Julie. He was a wonderful Bampy to Lisa, Adam, Jen and Michael of whom he was immensley proud and a lovely Bampy in Law to Michelle, Karen, Jess and Laura.
He had four Great Grandsons who he adored - Toby, Jacob, Louie and Theo and they thought the world of him.
Howard led a very full and rich life. There are many happy memories of family holidays, family occasions and village life in Tongwynlais. It is safe to say that his family were his great love.
Many people who knew him will remember his sense of humour, his love of telling a good story and his kindness. He was always ready to lend a hand, and he will be sadly missed.
