Our Dad died peacefully in his sleep at home, 2 days before his 92nd birthday. He lived independently right up to the end. He was a beloved Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad, brother and father-in-law.
In a life lived to the full, he was a sailor, scientist, scout leader, raconteur, quiz genius, whiskey connoiseur, rugby and cricket fan and Freemason. He was generous, loyal, clever and funny and he convinced his great grandchildren that he was Santa and a Pirate. He was predeceased by our beautiful Mum Joan, who had been his accomplice in caravanning adventures and epic fancy dress parties.
It's the end of an era for us, we even thought he might live a full century and this leaves a tremendous emptiness in all our lives.
