Ian was born in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, to Ernest and Kathleen Trevelyan on 25.04.47 

Ian had an older brother, Paul, and a younger brother, John. He is survived by Paul.

The family moved to Cleethorpes, near Grimsby, where he grew up.

Ian left school at the age of 15 and joined the Royal Navy, in Gosport, as a Junior Electrical Mechanic. He served for twenty-nine years, retiring on the 24th April 1992. Ian worked his way through the ranks in an illustrious Naval career. His final rank held was Chief Petty Officer. 

His ended his working life at GKN Westlands, Yeovil. 


His hobbies included a passion for Wargaming, Amateur Radio, Coin collecting and family history. 

Ian has five children, Robin, Kelvin, Colin, Sharin & Darin to whom he was a wonderful, kind and caring father to.
He was also a much loved grandfather, and friend to many, he will be sorely missed.

Donations collected in memory of Ian will be jointly shared between the Royal British Legion and Cancer Research UK
