It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Filippo Francesco Salamone on Monday, 8th September 2025 aged 85 years. A loving husband to Angela, a doting brother to Angelo and Francesca, a very special dad to his daughters, Fiona and Carmelina and an adored "Paps" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born in Sicily, he made the courageous journey to Cornwall on the 1st January 1961 to work at South Crofty Mine. It was at Penmare, in Hayle that he met and fell in love with a local girl, Angela and together they built a life full of love, laughter and family. In Sicily he had trained as a tailor and so when he retired from mining he went on to co-found Solo, a popular and thriving men's boutique in Camborne, with his brother Angelo. Known for his warmth, kindness and impeccable style he became a beloved and well respected figure in the community. Camborne became his much loved home where he raised his family and nurtured his beautiful garden, one of his greatest joys. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and generosity that will live on in the hearts of all that new him. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
