Valerie "Val" Cunningham (née Moore) passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on July 9, 1944, in Huyton, Valerie’s life spanned more than eight decades. She was the beloved wife of Peter, and a loving mother to her two daughters, Victoria and Alixandra. Her love extended to her grandchildren — Megan, Haydn, and Taylor — and continued through Megan’s husband, Daryl.
Valerie also embraced a blended family in her marriage to Peter, welcoming his children: Andy (married to Sue, with children Em and Jenny), Linden, and Helen (with children Alastair and Niamh). Val was delighted to be a great-grandmother to Jenny’s children, Arthur and Harry.
A service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 3:15 PM at Rawdon Crematorium, Leeds Road, Rawdon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leeds Hospital Cancer Centre.
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
