We sadly announce the passing of Michael aged 88 years, on the 9th of March 2026. Michael started his teaching career at St Thomas's Ilkeston in 1960. He later taught at Wilsthorpe Secondary school, Long Eaton in the 1970s, before returning for a time as deputy headmaster at St Thomas's. He finally headed to St Alban's Chaddesden, Derby in 1974 as headmaster where he eventually retired in 1991. His time there saw him train the netball team that became an unstoppable force. He also produced many of the musicals that the school performed.
