Michael Peter Whiting Born 29th March 1960, passed away peacefully on 9th March 2026 aged 65.
A kind, loving & devoted father to his four children and the much-loved heart of Farnborough Village. For over fifteen years he ran the little sweet shop and newsagent with endless energy, long before the sun rose and long after most had gone home. He greeted every customer like an old friend, remembered their names, and always had time — and often a hidden sweet — for the children.
He showed us all, by quiet example, the true meaning of integrity, kindness and calm strength. No matter what life threw at him, he never stopped giving and never let us see him crack.
He will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends and everyone whose life he touched in the village.
Forever in our hearts.
