It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Doughty on 9th September 2026 at Margate QEQM Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His kindness, strength, and sense of humour touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was deeply committed to his family, loyal to his friends, and always willing to help others whenever he could.

Born on 28th September 1947 in Margate, Michael spent his life creating cherished memories with those he loved. He will be remembered for his many years of ten-pin bowling, his talent for building and repairing things for others, his support of RYFC, and the time he spent helping at his friends’ and his son’s allotments. Above all, he will be remembered for the love, guidance, and care he gave to his family.

He leaves behind his children, Michael and Sally; his grandchildren, Kayleigh, Natalie, and Beth; his great-grandchildren, Carter, Delilah, and Chance; as well as many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the many happy memories we shared with Michael and in the lasting impression he made on everyone who knew him. His love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain with us always.
