Following illness, Hugh sadly died in the Bristol Royal Infirmary on Saturday 12th July 2025. He was 65 and delighted that he finally managed to marry Clare in a small ceremony the afternoon before he died.
Hugh was a very loving family man and will be greatly missed by Clare, their children Daniel, Poppy and Zoe and his wider family and friends.
A talented songwriter and guitarist, painfully funny mimic and an awesome dad, Hugh was a great man. All are welcome to celebrate his life. Considering his life-long aversion to flowers ("They smell funny"), donations in lieu of floral tributes are suggested. The local charity 'Made A Mark' provide memory boxes to children who experience the death of a parent or sibling in hospital or hospice care. Hugh's children have already benefited from this kindness, so we will be supporting this charity in the years to come.
