Anthony Phillip Cooper "Tony" passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday 12th November 2025. Having heroically battled cancer for 6 years, his unwavering strength and determination saw him surpass all medical expectations, and reach the age of 82 years.
Life without Tony will never be the same for all who were privileged to know him. He loved in abundance, laughed plentifully, and his wisdom, creativity, and positivity despite the situation is a life lesson for us all.
Above all else, Tony valued family, his Christian faith, love, and his wife Joy. She was his soul mate, rock, and his dearest love, with whom he shared everything. Their marriage was a true model of love, loyalty, and partnership, without exception.
During Tony’s hardest times, he was cared for by many incredible, loving and compassionate carers, nurses and doctors to whom the family will be eternally grateful.
Prospect Hospice provided exemplary care and support to both Tony and Joy, and the family have asked for donations to be made to them, in his memory. They kindly request no flowers, and hope that donations to Prospect will be an appropriate alternative.
Prospect Hospice is run almost entirely from public donations and seeks to provide excellent, personalised and compassionate care for those affected by life-limiting illness. Recent financial pressures have reduced their capacity from 18 to only 6 beds.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated for this lifeline of support to those going through the most difficult of times.
The family would love for everyone to wear something bright and colourful (Tony’s favourite colour was blue). Everyone is warmly invited to the crematorium (commital), but for those who don't feel able, the family wish for everyone to join them at Tony’s family-friendly Celebration of Life (service), and then the Celebration gathering (reception) afterwards.
Please note: there is no parking at the Church itself, but there is plenty of parking locations within a short walking distance, both on Marlborough high street and at several carparks close by.
If you are unable to attend, please contact, and we will send you a copy of the order of service.
