John passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, 13th January 2024 aged 87 years.
John was born on 10th September 1936 in Northampton to Harry & Elsie Currey. He grew up in Semilong, with his 2 brothers, Alan & Gordon, and went on to lead a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family.
A devoted husband, John shared 66 years with his beloved wife Glenda, and together they raised their three sons, Andy, Richard & Ian.
As a father, he was the epitome of strength and guidance. He imparted invaluable wisdom, kindness, and a strong work ethic to his boys, shaping them into the compassionate and resilient individuals they are today. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in each of them.
John was also a loving and caring Grandfather, to his five grandchildren; Matthew, Sarah, Laura, Liellah & Harry, and his Great Grandchildren; Jack, Isaac, Soraya, Lily & George, who all share special memories of treasured times with their 'Pap' - his warm smile, tight hugs, planting beans in the garden, fun playing games, and trips to the seaside. His compassionate nature endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Whether it was a helping hand, a listening ear, or a comforting word, John was always there for all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and integrity that will endure for generations to come, and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and warmth he so generously shared throughout his remarkable life.
