John Michael Pitt passed away peacefully on Wednesday 14th January 2026, aged 84.
John was a beloved father to Amanda and Anna, brother to Margot, and grandfather to Una.
Born in Salford, he moved to Norwich over ten years ago to live closer to his family, after many years in Wiltshire.
A teacher by profession, John was also a lifelong sports fan, playing cricket and supporting local clubs; and he loved walking. Gifted mathematically, John was also passionate about history and literature, and could solve crosswords and anagrams even after his eyesight failed him. John was known for his kind, enthusiastic and generous spirit, ready to help anyone. He will be sadly missed by all.
A service will be held in his memory on Wednesday 18 February, 12pm at St.Faiths crematorium.
