Joyce Gold, born on May 17, 1934, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, at the age of 90.
Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Gold, who passed away over three decades ago. She was the cherished daughter of Ada Green and sister to the late Arthur Green. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Michael, Karen, and Jack; her daughter-and son-in-law, Rhian and Alistair; her eight grandchildren - Gareth, Cara, David, Andrew, Hannah, Charlie, Daisy, and Archie - and her two great-grandchildren, Owen and Emilia
In her early years, Joyce worked as a milliner. Later in life, she became a medical social worker at the Jubilee Hospital in Woodford Green, helping people when they were at their most vulnerable.
A woman of many passions, Joyce took great pleasure in entertaining and cooking for those she loved. Known for her fondness for copious amounts of butter and double cream, she loved preparing meals for her family and friends to enjoy. She delighted in traveling the world and nurtured a deep appreciation for opera. Joyce also enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong with friends, a testament to her vibrant social spirit. During the COVID pandemic, she enjoyed the companionship of Pushkin, a loyal presence in her life for six cherished years.
Over the years, Joyce lived in several places that brought her happiness: Woodford, Upshire, Dalham, and Bury St. Edmunds. Each location held special memories that she treasured deeply and shared with those closest to her.
Her warmth and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind as they celebrate a life well-lived.
