After a remarkable life filled with love, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Fatma, on 17th November 2024, aged 94.
A truly loving and special Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Auntie, Cousin and Friend, she touched the lives of so many and will be dearly missed.
The funeral will take place on Monday, 2nd December, at 11:00am at Palmers Green Mosque, 30 Oakthorpe Road, London, N13 5JL.
The burial will follow at 12:00pm at Tottenham Park Cemetery, Dodsley Place, Montagu Road, London, N9 0HU.
Following this, we invite you to join us for a funeral reception at The Cock Inn, Chalk Lane, Barnet, EN4 9HU, starting at 1:45pm. This will be an opportunity to come together to remember and celebrate Fatma’s life. Please bring along your fondest memories to share with family and friends.
The Mevlit will be held over three evenings, as detailed below. The third evening will take place at Shakir and Gul’s home, with all three nights streamed on Zoom so family and friends from near and far can join us.

- Wednesday, 4th December: Arrival from 19:30, prayers to commence at 20:00

Flowers
Flowers are welcome. Alternatively, contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Society via the link below, a charity close to our hearts after witnessing the impact of Alzheimer’s dementia on our family.
For floral arrangements, we will be using Burgeon Floral Design in Cockfosters, and you can order directly through this page. You are welcome to bring flowers directly to the cemetery.
Parking
Please note that parking at Tottenham Park Cemetery is limited. To ensure smooth access for the hearse and the immediate family cortege, we kindly ask that the narrow cemetery road remains clear.
Dress Code
Black attire is not required. You are welcome to wear a touch of colour to reflect Fatma’s vibrant personality or choose traditional sombre shades. Please feel free to dress in whatever makes you most comfortable.
