David Michael James Hoyles sadly passed at Hillside Care Home, Ffynone, Uplands, Swansea, on Thursday 20th March 2025, aged 76.
Mike served in Hohne, former West Germany, in the 1st The Queens Dragoon Guards (The Welsh Cavalry) as a driver of Chieftain, the main battle tank, and was a keen sportsman. After a life-threatening accident and a long period of rehabilitation, Mike resumed work for Remploy as a furniture maker. He married Mum, Carol-Lynne (né Nash) in 1990, where they set up homes in Waunarlwydd, Penygroes, Birchgrove and finally together at Hillside. After losing Mum to dementia in 2023, Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep also from dementia.
We thank each and every member of staff a Hillside Care Home for their excellent care to Dad, and previously Mum, which has been second to none - thank you!
Father to Tony and Alison, Karen and Michael and Wayne. Grandfather to Laura, Shauna, Maddison, Ashleigh, Lauren and Lucy and Demi. Great Grandfather to Logan, Jayden, Ava & Mia. Brother to Nigel and the late Beverley, Uncle to his Nieces and Nephews and family.
Buffet at The Eagle public house, Treboeth, around 3pm.
Mike will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends.
