We sadly announce the passing of Gwyneth aged 85 years, on the 21st of February 2026.
Gwyneth was born in Preston, Lancashire, a city that held a special place in her heart and a county of which she was immensely proud. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends, including Shankly and Paisley the Cocker Spaniels! She held a passion for Liverpool Football Club, making trips herself to Anfield and watching them whenever she could, always through red tinted glasses!
Her greatest love was her closest family. She was always selfless, putting them, and others first, Her late husband John, daughter Joanne, son Ian and their families were the centre of her world. Her grandchildren, Abigail and Sam, held the most special place in her heart. They were truly adored.
She viewed her closest friends as her extended family and was always a welcoming and generous host to those who visited. Being asked to be godmother to Dan was an honour for her and a measure of the regard in which she was held.
In typical Gwyneth fashion, her wish was to not have a fuss! We respectfully ask that flowers be sent by family only. However, if you would like to make a donation, in her memory, to the Alzheimer's Society, that would be a fitting trubute to Gwyneth. It was a charity close to her heart, after close family and friends were affected by the disease.
