It is with great sadness that Crispin, Sarah and their famillies announce the sudden passing of John Fielder aged 90, on the 21st of December 2023.
John had a wonderful life. He grew up in Addlestone with his brother Jim and our Grandparents.
He carried out his National Service in Bruggen, Germany which further fanned the flames of his love for speed especially with airplanes and on his trusty motorbike.
On his return to the UK he studied hard for his HNC and then applied for an apprenticeship as a Toolmaker at Vickers Armstrong in Weybridge. Once he passed his apprenticeship he swiftly progressed into the drawing office where he became a Draughtsman and where he worked for many years on many different types of projects. His favourite jobs involved those with wings and engines.
He married our wonderful mother, Marise, in 1965 and they lived in Pyford which is where both Crispin and I grew up.
He had a love of the Royal Academy and the RHS Wisley Gardens.
His other hobbies included travelling and racing with both 2 and 4 wheels. He and our Mother were both pit crew and No.1 fans of Crispin when he was racing his Van Dieman car.
He also enjoyed reading, especially tales of true-life espionage and political thrillers.
He was proud of his family and loved seeing his Grandchildren,
Dad/John/Grandad is greatly missed.
