It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Swarna Monika De Silva, born on 2 March 1941, who departed this life on 23 April 2026, at the age of 85.
She was the beloved wife of Dr Nanda De Silva for 58 years, a loving mother to Uditha and Shiroma, and the late Ramesh. A devoted Buddhist, Swarna Monika De Silva lived a life guided by compassion, generosity, and kindness. She was widely admired for her philanthropic spirit and her willingness to help those in need. Swarna also embraced life and those who knew and loved her will recall her fun nature and boundless energy.
She will be fondly remembered by her family, relatives, and many friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and selflessness.
May she attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana.
The funeral will be held at The Chilterns Crematorium, Amersham, HP7 0ND at 3pm on Saturday 9th May 2026, and the Wake at Ballinger Memorial Hall, Ballinger Rd, HP16 9LQ 4.45pm onwards.
