It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our Mum, Teresa Anne Sellers (nee. Lowe), who passed away on January 26th 2025, aged 68 years young.
Born on March 7th 1956, in the bathroom of the family home in Witchford, Ely, as the second child of four to her beloved late parents. Later moving to Ely, where she spent the majority of her life. Teresa had many jobs over the years of all types, but her most favourite job of all was being a Mum and later a Nanny. Her children, Greg, Matt & Jo, & grandchildren, Charlie, Jenny, Annabelle, Izaak, Jazy & Henry, were the absolute light of her life, her purpose in this world. Over the years she was happy to be ‘Mum’ to many and the house was often filled with her children’s friends! Another name she loved to go by, used only by family- mostly her beloved brothers, was Chish & said it always brought a smile to her face & warmth to her heart.
Also known by many as Tess, she was a bright and bubbly force of nature with a kind, warm heart & a smile for everyone. In 2023 Teresa was nominated for 2 Ely Hero Awards & the very proud winner of 1, so deserved & so cherished. Her selfless acts of kindness to neighbours over the years is the reason for the accolade, though she never expected such recognition. This was such a proud moment for her.
Baking, and cooking of all kinds, was a huge part of who Teresa was & she was well known for it too. Supplying all friends & family with baked goods all year round. Most notably at Christmas time, when baking preparations would start at least a month in advance. A good number of years even supplying charities for the elderly & lonely with some Christmas goodies too.
A keen gardener, often spending hours in her little suntrap courtyard tending her plants. She loved the sun & in more recent years frequented Malta with her companion.
Teresa was a kind & generous soul, often putting others needs before her own. Her love, compassion & dazzling smile was extended to all that she met. She will be remembered & loved for always, leaving a large hole in so many lives.
A private funeral will be held on what would be her birthday, at the Fenland Crematorium, March.
After the service, ALL that wish to pay their respects & celebrate Teresa’s life with us, her family, are welcome to join us at The Beet club, Ely, March 7th from 3pm.
