Rita Xavier passed away in London, United Kingdom, at the age of 89. Born on 3rd July 1935 in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, Rita moved to London in the early 1970s. Rita lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and deep community spirit.
For many years, Rita made her home in Chiswick, where she became a beloved member of the local community. She was actively involved in neighbourhood life, regularly participating in local social committees and forging strong friendships with those around her.
Rita was a devoted primary school teacher for over two decades, taking great pride in nurturing young minds and leaving a lasting impact on generations of students who are now successful professionals in their field. Her love of learning and passion for teaching were lifelong hallmarks, reflected in her deep interests in reading, the classics, history, and music.
A devout Catholic, Rita was a faithful member of Our Lady of Grace & St Edward Church in Chiswick, where she found spiritual strength and fellowship. She also found joy in the company of friends and family and held a special love for animals.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anton I.A. Xavier, in 2001. She and Anton are lovingly remembered by their son, Anton E.L. Xavier, and their cherished grandson, Anton A. Palos-Xavier.
Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
