Margaret passed away peacefully at Badgeworth Court Care Home aged 91 Years.
Margaret had a lifelong commitment to nurture children as a teacher, mother, playgroup leader, grandmother and recently great-grandmother, positively influencing many young lives. Besides her passion for people she rejoiced in music, singing in a choir for many years and playing the piano and organ. She also had an abiding fascination with the natural world finding great joy in the living things around her. Margaret took great pleasure in passing these loves of music and nature on to everyone she met.
Margaret’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was brought up in the church in West Hartlepool, met her husband, David at the Wesley Church in Cambridge and was an active church member everywhere she lived. Throughout her life she had a loving heart for those facing life's challenges.
Latterly as her mobility started to decline Margaret took to using a scooter and became a familiar sight on the streets of Cheltenham, driving to and from church, deftly manoeuvring around shops and joining David as they enjoyed the green spaces of Cheltenham together.
A much loved wife, mum, grandma and great-grandma, Margaret will be greatly missed.
The family wish to thank you all for the kind messages of sympathy and support they have received at this sad time.
This is a celebration of Margaret's faith, personality and life and in keeping with this it is not necessary to dress in sombre colours. The family invite all present to join us for refreshments immediately after the service in the Church Hall.
Please note there is no parking at the Church. The nearest public car park is Bath Terrace Car Park GL50 2BA.
Living Options Devon run the Countryside Mobility service for the South West which provided Margaret with off road mobility scooters allowing her to enjoy the beauty of the countryside with David and the family.
