What does a Dignity funeral director do?

Discover what a typical day at S Robinson & Sons looks like, and what we actually do.
Support the family ...

As a funeral director, no two days are the same. We are here to help people 24-hours a day if they need it. At least one person remains on call outside of our regular opening hours, which means that if someone passes during the night, there is always a funeral director on hand to offer help and support to the family.

While we make sure that we provide continuous care for the departed, we also give our complete support to those who have been left behind. Our duty of care is to ease the burden placed upon family and friends and to reassure them. Those experiencing loss will have difficult choices to make regarding the funeral, and we want to help give them the confidence they need to reach those decisions.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
To make sure that we arrange a send-off that reflects the wishes of the family, our funeral directors take the time to gain an understanding of who the deceased was, and what they meant to their loved ones. This is all part of the service S Robinson & Sons is proud to offer the Hull community.

We also offer support to families with the administrative side of bereavement, which includes guidance and advice on the necessary paperwork.
Funeral procession at a woodland burial
The care our funeral directors offer the departed is universal, as part of our 'care of the deceased' process.

Our teams of funeral arrangers, embalmers and operatives work hard to perform their duties to the highest standards. This is all to ensure that a loved one is looked after in accordance with the family's wishes, from the moment of collection through to the funeral service and final goodbye.

Here at S Robinson & Sons, we are thankful to the Hull community for allowing us to support them during the most difficult of times. That is why we like to express our gratitude.

From working with local care homes, training the clergy in funeral procedure, to advising others on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means we are always ready to give something back.
