We are Ely Funeral Service , helping the people of Ely during their times of need, as we have done since 1988.

She understood that losing a loved one is never easy, which is why from the moment you reach out to us, we will do everything we can to help you through this difficult time. We will personally ensure you receive an information pack and will listen, support and guide you through every step, always with your best interest at heart.

Our Attended Funeral includes care of your loved one, a Park Coffin, a service at the place of committal which can be personalised as required for your loved one, followed by a burial or cremation.
Our Unattended Funeral will best suit your needs if you want to arrange a simple and straightforward cremation without a service or ceremony, allowing you and your loved one's friends and family to commemorate them in your own way.
Choose from a variety of options, including headstones and urns to memorial plaques, vases, statues, jewellery and plenty more. With a Memorial, you can create a tribute that especially reflects the life, love and cherished memories of your loved one.

Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.
We have used these Funral Directors twice before. Robert was the person who looked after our arrangements. He was very kind and supportive, throughout and was always at the end of the phone, if I had any concerns. On the day of the funeral, he was quietly there in the background, which gave me a lot of confidence. Everyone we came into contact with at Ely Funeral Sevice were very empathetic, whilst remaining highly professional. I would highly recommend these Directors, as they make a stressful time, that much easier.
Our team are here to provide the highest level of service for you and we are happy this was achieved. I am happy to hear that we were able to help ease any worries that you may have had.
Excellent from start to finish. Sadly both my parents died within six months and on both occasions what are difficult days were made much easier to cope with. Staff are first class and so is the service.

Your feedback is so valuable to us and we would like to say thank you. I am glad that our staff went above and beyond to deliver the service you expected.
We were very impressed by the service of Ely Funeral Directors at what was obviously a difficult time for our family. Robert and all the other team members we encountered were at all times professional, courteous and respectful and they even went the extra mile for us, collecting my late mother's possessions from the hospital (with our permission) and dropping them at my father's house. I cannot recommend them highly enough
