View our Standardised Price List, Additional Options Price List and Crematoria Price List.
Our Attended Funeral includes care of your loved one, a Park Coffin, a service at the place of committal which can be personalised as required for your loved one, followed by a burial or cremation.
When you choose the Chapel Service, our expert Funeral Directors will help arrange a one-hour service in one of our chapels. We will then conduct an unattended cremation with the highest levels of care.
Our chapels offer a peaceful setting where family and friends can remember and celebrate the life of your loved one. Once the ceremony is over, the cremation will take place without family or friends present. The cremation will be carried out with dignity and respect, overseen by one of our professional attendants.
Our Unattended Funeral will best suit your needs if you want to arrange a simple and straightforward cremation without a service or ceremony, allowing you and your loved one's friends and family to commemorate them in your own way.
Choose from a variety of options, including headstones and urns to memorial plaques, vases, statues, jewellery and plenty more. With a Memorial, you can create a tribute that especially reflects the life, love and cherished memories of your loved one.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.
I found that A Haxby &sons were very helpful and compassionate to our needs for my father's funeral
Thankyou
Angela Ransome and family
Thank you for your 5* review.
From the first contact everyone I came across was very sympathetic and very helpful.
Colin put me at ease straight away and made some very helpful suggestions. The celebrant that he suggested Kate Barker gave a wonderful eulogy for my friend and gave a very lovely service that was enjoyed if that's the right thing to say about a funeral! by all that attended. Thank you to you all for making things so much easier to deal with.

Thank you for posting your online review. I am pleased that all of the arrangements were carried out to your satisfaction.
We received a very professional service from Joanna and Colin at J.E Spence and were very satisfied with the whole service.
The circumstances of my sister's death were not straightforward, as the Coroner and police were involved and this resulted in delays in being able to finalise the funeral details. Joanna regularly kept us up to date on the progress and made the whole operation as easy as possible, under the circumstances. J E spence worked closely with the church, making our part in organising the funeral a lot less stressful.
Thank you for taking the time to send your online review to us. I am pleased that you were so well looked after by our team and that we were able to help make things easier for you at such a difficult time.
