During this exceptional time, staff at The Crematorium and Memorial Group are working tirelessly to ensure that all funeral services provided across our sites remain dignified and to the highest possible standard.

We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our families, clients, and staff, whilst also adhering to the UK Government and Public Health England directive surrounding social distancing. The situation changes daily, and we shall adapt accordingly, but right now we anticipate the current measures in place shall ensure the wellbeing of everyone.

Our crematorium sites are COVID-19 secure. We have assessed all individual crematorium site environments to identify any additional measures needed to make sure we have safe-working conditions in respect of COVID-19. Hygiene, social distancing, welfare and communication are just some of the common themes we have considered on our detailed risk assessments.

All employees have received guidelines to maintain a COVID-19 secure status at each location. This will ensure we continue to help you and provide our services in a safe and dignified way.

Operationally

The CMG appreciates that this an extremely difficult time for everyone, not least those who have lost a loved one, and we would like to strongly encourage all visitors to the crematorium to follow the Government’s advice with regards to social distancing, regular washing of hands and avoiding personal contact where at all possible.

In addition to this, we have made the following changes to our service.

Services

  • If you are affected by COVID-19, or are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 you must not come to the crematorium.
  • In line with the Government’s directive surrounding social distancing, the maximum number of mourners who can enter our chapels will vary depending on the size of the chapel. Please contact your local crematorium for further information.
  • Specific guidance has been provided to Funeral Directors using our crematoria.

For our crematoria in Scotland click here.
  • The vast majority of CMG crematoriums are able to provide webcasting, which will enable those who are unable to attend to still view the funeral service online rather than attending the crematorium. We would strongly recommend this option is taken up wherever possible and to make this option more affordable for families, we have reduced our fee to £25.00. Please contact your local crematorium for further information.
