During this exceptional time, staff at The Crematorium and Memorial Group are working tirelessly to ensure that all funeral services provided across our sites remain dignified and to the highest possible standard.

We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our families, clients and staff, whilst also adhering to the UK Government and Public Health England directive surrounding social distancing. The situation changes daily, and we shall adapt accordingly, but right now we anticipate the current measures in place shall ensure the wellbeing of everyone.

The CMG appreciates that this an extremely difficult time for everyone, not least those who have lost a loved one, and we would like to strongly encourage all visitors to the crematorium to follow the Government’s advice with regards to social distancing, regular washing of hands and avoiding personal contact where at all possible.

In addition to this, we have made the following changes to our service.

  • If you are affected by Covid-19, self-isolating, or are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 you must not come to the crematorium
  • As of Wednesday 25th March 2020, we will be limiting the number of mourners entering our chapels to 10 people
  • Specific guidance has been provided to Funeral Directors using our crematoria. A copy can be found here.
  • To ensure the wellbeing of our visitors and staff our offices will remain closed for appointment until further notice. If you need to contact a member of staff, please use the telephone number provided on our website.
  • The vast majority of CMG crematoriums are able to provide webcasting, which will enable those who are self-isolating or in the vulnerable category to still be able to view the funeral service online rather than attending the crematorium. We would strongly recommend this option is taken up wherever possible and to make this option more affordable for families, we have reduced our fee to £25.00. Please contact your local crematorium for further information.

Important Update (30/03/2020)

On the 26th March 2020, the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 was approved and is to be implemented with immediate effect.

In line with this new legislation, The Crematorium and Memorial Group would like to notify all visitors that as of Monday 30th March 2020, our crematorium’s and cemeteries are now closed to members of the public, unless they are attending a funeral.

This means that, other than for the purpose of attending a funeral, no member of the public is permitted into our grounds for activities such as, visiting a memorial or laying flowers. For those visitors who are attending a funeral service, The CMG would like to remind you that no more than 10 people are permitted to enter our chapels and that everyone should follow the Government’s advice with regards to social distancing, regular hand washing and avoiding all personal contact where at all possible.

The CMG understands that this is an extremely difficult time for everyone, and whilst we have had to make these very difficult decisions, we have done so in order to ensure that we continue to provide funeral services to the highest possible standard, whilst protecting the health and safety of our families, clients and staff.
