Ever since the mid-nineteenth century, when a member of the Camp family married a member of Hopson family, we have worked to ensure we deliver the highest standard of funeral care.   • You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.


  • Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.


  • If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.


  • Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.

I cannot fault CHFD on any point at all. If I were allowed to give a score I would rate them 12/10 !!

Kirstie superbly guided me through this, a personal first time experience, and her attention to making me feel at ease and ensuring that all the tiny details were covered was outstanding. Similarly, Paul, the Director on the day, impressed me hugely with a personal phone call the evening before the funeral, and with his very discreet guidance on the day. CHFD are the ultimate professionals in handling such the sensitive events.

Everything was handled very well and with compassion to give us the funeral we wanted for our deceased loved one. Recently I lost my father. I have never had to organise a funeral before and had no idea where to begin. Kirstie from Camp Hopson was fantastic. She hand held me throughout the entire process and helped at a time when I really needed it. Whilst the day itself was obviously sad it could not of been executed better and I am extremely grateful to her and the entire team. My dad would have been proud. Highly recommend.

From the initial contact, Camps were most helpful and provided compassionate advise and guidance. Kirsty was a great help during a very difficult time. Having arranged a funeral plan beforehand, the arrangements for my sister-in-law's funeral was very straight forward - no last minute decisions or pressure. Kirstie was very helpful and I felt I could have spoken to her about any thoughts that I might have. The day went to plan with no hitches and we were very pleased with the whole thing. Hannah too, was very helpful, along with Jayne (the celebrant), both being very supportive.

From the very first telephone call to Camp Hopson funeral Directors the service was second to non. Hannah in the office was kind, caring and very professional and knowledgeable. She kept in touch throughout.
On the day of the funeral, The funeral director Paul ensured everything went exactly to plan as per our wishes and telephoned the evening before to double check everything was as we wanted.

Because of Covid restrictions, I arranged the funeral for my father over the phone, and this went very well. The staff were very helpful and organised, and helped me through the process. The Celebrant was excellent, both in terms of planning the funeral, and also on the day of the service, holding everything together. Both the Celebrant and Funeral Director were incredibly supportive and helpful at the funeral. I was really pleased with the service, the music and location were perfect, and it felt like my father had been given the service that he would have wanted. My sincere thanks to everyone who helped me with the arrangements during this difficult time.

Many thanks to Hanna and the team for helping us through this difficult time. All arrangement were perfect and all as planned. Hanna connected us to the carriage master and his beautiful horses which seamlessly interfaced with the hearse. She also arranged the celebrant Sue who's care and attention of the detail of the funeral were second to none. The funeral director was gentle kind and sympathetic during the whole proceedings.

Camps recently arranged my Mum's funeral and all the staff I dealt with were caring, sensitive and professional. Alison went out of her way to help to help me sort things out and nothing was too much trouble. The celebrant was great and through taking the time to talk to me and my sister, he really captured who our Mum was. He was also very supportive on the day of the service as was the Funeral Director, who called me the day before to introduce herself. Camps made a very difficult job much easier and I feel that in spite of the current restrictions, they enabled me and my family to give my Mum a lovely send off. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Very supportive and helpful with delivery and collection of documents from home during lockdown. My main negative was associated with the way the Funeral Notice was published. Vital information was omitted when posted such as times and location of the funeral leading to confusion over who was invited to attend. This was visible to me, but not fellow mourners. This was apparently due to interpretation of Covid restrictions but had not been divulged to me at any time.
Otherwise, the service went well and Joan was on hand to manage the procedures.

Camp Hopson arranged our father's funeral and when our mother passed away 6 weeks later, we had no hesitation in contacting them again to look after her. Hannah provided a professional and friendly service guiding us through the process and answering our many questions. Matt led the team on the day of both funerals and helped us through difficult days compassionately.

We would not hesitate to recommend them. Special thanks must go to Hannah for looking after all of us so well.
