What does a Dignity funeral director do?
While care for the departed is integral to our role, so too is the care provided for those left behind. Our funeral directors have a duty to serve families in their time of need, part of which includes reassuring the family and helping them at every step of the process. There will be choices that need to be made regarding the funeral, and a funeral director will aim to give those who have experienced loss the confidence needed in order to make important decisions.

Part of the support offered to every family dealing with the loss of a loved one is guidance with the administrative side of bereavement. This includes advice on what paperwork is required, along with ensuring it is completed correctly and, where necessary, within a timely manner.

To ensure a loved one is looked after in accordance with the family's wishes, our funeral arrangers, embalmers and operatives always perform their duties to the highest standards, from the moment we first meet the family, through to the funeral service and final goodbye.

From working with local care homes to training the clergy in funeral procedure and advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means our funeral directors are always ready to give something back to those they serve.
