Frequently asked questions
When someone dies, the first steps will depend on how and where the person passed away. Our step-by-step guides will walk you through the practical steps. For additional support and personal advice, please get in touch with us.
You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.
Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.
If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.
Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.
Reviews of our services
The two ladies Jackie and Emma ar Tottigton are lovely and are able to adapt well to a persons individual personality, not everyone wants treating the same way which was ideal in my own case they treated me more Like a friend which is exactly what I needed someone to cry and laugh with & to share my memories with and the coffee was the best.
Kit was the same after 5 days of shock with no one to talk to I needed normality he is a lovely man caring but easy to talk to very helpful, but again someone who adapted easily to MY personality. When the flowers hadn’t arrived in time he calmed me down. The florist did not deliver to the parlour and they had to be re-directed to my house.
Finally Tony Travis who helped me with the planning and the more personal side to Nigels funeral the eulogy, poem, songs, personal messages he new I wanted it precise as I had spent 48 hours working on it without sleep but nothing was too much trouble - what a lovely man and again I could cry and laugh at the same time with him and since it was during the pandemic he helped me to overcome some obstacles & let me phone him at anytime day, evening weekend & bank holiday whist he was away himself with his family so that if I had forgotten or wanted to add to it he added or changed it before I forgot it, he is such a fabulous guy, he new straight away what I wanted and soon got to know the lovely guy that my man is/was, which meant an awful lot to me.
I can’t recommend the team at Tottigton highly enough. I do hope that you do actually let them see this review although I will be popping in soon to say hello and thank them in person and have another couple of Emma’s lovely coffee 💗
P.S. Apologies if I got anyone’s name wrong.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating to all of our needs.
They recommended a Celebrant who was perfect for our family, and the funeral for my dad was exactly what he would have wanted.
Ashley was very helpful and made every effort to accommodate and guiding us through the different options.
