How do funeral costs vary?

The cost of a funeral depends on what you need. We'll help you understand everything, so you can plan without any surprises.

Our prices include all the essentials

The prices you see on each branch's Price List are our lowest for each type of funeral. They include caring for the person who's died, a simple coffin, and the cremation or burial. We don't charge for the little touches like placing a rose on the coffin or playing music.

What affects the cost?

You can choose to add a personal touch, such as a unique coffin, flowers, your choice of transport, a printed order of service or a memorial. There might be additional costs depending on the type of funeral you choose, or what you require. You can find out additional costs by looking at Additional Options Price Lists on each branch's webpage.

I couldn’t have asked for better care, kindness and support from A.G. Stapleford & Sons.

What has been one of the hardest and most heartbreaking times for our family was made that little bit easier because of the incredible support we received from everyone there. Somehow, even amongst all the sadness, they helped us find moments of joy over the past six weeks.

From the evening our Dad was taken into their care, they were absolutely phenomenal. Chris and the whole team helped us with every aspect of the funeral, taking so much of the stress and worry off our shoulders. They genuinely felt like part of our family during such an incredibly difficult time.

I sent countless emails and had endless questions, often asking Chris “Is that the normal thing to do?” and not once did I ever feel silly or like I was asking too much. Every question was answered, every request was listened to and nothing ever felt like a problem. Their patience, understanding and kindness meant more to us than I can put into words.

I would wholeheartedly recommend these lovely people to any of my family and friends. They truly made everything that little bit easier while taking such wonderful care of our Dad and supporting us through the hardest of times.

Even today, just over two weeks since Dad’s funeral, I received a lovely call from the lady at the Havant branch. She was so kind and thoughtful, and it honestly brought home to me that it really is these little touches that have meant the most.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for everything you did for our Dad, his beautiful funeral and for all of us. We will always be incredibly grateful.

I cant thank AG Stapleford enough for looking after mum and us at a very sad emotional time loosing my beautiful mum Betty at 94yrs old. Michelle was just what I needed. Her compassion and professionalism orgamising mums farewell under what was a stressful family dynamic was outstanding. In fact me and my husband will be visiting to sort out our own plan very soon.

Highly recommend. Mum paid for her funeral through Dignity and it helped so much knowing we were acting on muums final wishes.. Thankyou to everyone at Portsmouth Branch

Courteous, very respectful, and very efficient. As we're not regular churchgoers, our plan included a celebrant, who spent quite a while with us, describing my late wife's life, family, and career, so she could give a wonderful job of conducting the funeral service at the crematorium. Every tiny detail, from the lighting to the music, was perfect, giving my wife the final sendoff she deserved.
