What does our team do? What does a Dignity funeral director do?

Interested in knowing what our team do on a day-to-day basis? Here’s a little insight:
Support and Guidance
From the moment you get in touch with us, we will do everything we can to support and guide you through this difficult time – to the day of the funeral and beyond.

Whether you want to learn more about our funeral services in Beckenham, or if you simply need someone to talk to, our team will be here to help.

Remember that we are available 24/7, so you can call at any time of the day or night.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
When we take your loved one into our funeral home, you can rest assured that we will take the utmost care of them.

We will listen to your requirements, making sure that they lay in rest as requested by you. We can arrange religious or ritual washes, dressing your loved one in their own clothes, and a number of other services to meet your needs.

You can also arrange to visit them in our peaceful chapel of rest in the lead up to the day of the funeral.

There are a number of decisions to be made when planning a funeral, so we will work with you to create a fitting send off for your loved one.

Whether you want a dignified but straightforward unattended cremation, or a colourful ceremony celebrating their life, we will be able to put the plans in place to make your ideas a reality.

We offer two funeral services to achieve this – the Unattended Funeral and the Attended Funeral. The Unattended Funeral consists of a simple cremation without mourners present. The Attended Funeral offers a funeral service with more scope for personalisation.

We’re proud to have been part of the community in Beckenham for over 100 years. As well as helping local individuals to arrange funerals and offering pre-paid funeral plans, we make sure to engage in local activities to help further.

Whether that’s collaborating with small local businesses to create funeral flowers and service cards for ceremonies, assisting local care homes or training the local clergy in updated funeral procedure, we’re always happy to collaborate with those around us for the greater good of Beckenham and the surrounding areas.

Francis Chappell & Sons Funeral Directors is thankful to the community here in Beckenham for allowing us to support them during the most difficult of times. That is why one of our less recognised, but no less significant, duties is expressing our gratitude.

Whether it's working with local care homes, training the clergy in funeral procedure, or advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means our funeral directors are always ready to assist and put a little something back.
