What does a Dignity funeral director do?

Here at Thomas B Treacy Funeral Directors, we are sometimes asked what a funeral director does, or what a typical day as a funeral director is like.
Support the family ...
There's no such thing as a 'typical' day at Thomas B Treacy, but it is a 24-hour day. A funeral director will remain on call outside of normal opening hours, so if somebody passes away at home, there's a trained professional available to help with collecting the deceased and to meet with the family and offer support.

Care for the departed is an essential feature of our role, but those left behind are of equal importance. Our duty of care as funeral directors is to reassure the family and help ease their burden, while supporting them when making difficult choices.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
It is important for us to understand who the deceased was and what they meant to the family, so we can make informed recommendations for the funeral service.

As part of the support our funeral directors offer to every family dealing with loss, we also help with the administrative side of bereavement. We will give support and advice to ensure any paperwork is completed correctly and where necessary, within a timely manner.

The care our funeral directors offer is universal, as every single person receives the same attentive treatment as part of our 'care of the deceased' process.

To ensure a loved one is looked after in accordance with the family's wishes, our funeral arrangers, embalmers and operatives endeavour to perform their duties to the highest standards, from the moment of collection through to the funeral service and the final goodbye.

The team at Thomas B Treacy Funeral Directors is thankful to the Clerkenwell community for allowing us to support them during the most difficult times.

From working with local care homes and training the clergy in funeral procedure, to advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means our funeral directors are always ready to assist and give a little something back.
