What does a Dignity funeral director do?

We are often asked, “what is a typical day here at Hayes & English?” Or, “what do your funeral directors do?”
Support the family ...
Our role varies greatly, so we rarely see a “typical” day. We don't adhere to normal working hours, as one of our funeral directors remains on call 24 hours a day. This means that someone is always available to offer support.

It is integral for us to ensure the care of the deceased family member, but we also understand that those left behind can require support in the process of organising the funeral. At this difficult time, we help ease some of the stresses of coming to terms with a loved one's passing.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
Understanding more about the deceased family member helps us to deliver a service that considers the type of funeral the family thinks is best.

Coping with the loss of a loved one can be a difficult and confusing time. There is also a requirement to fill out the correct paperwork and attend to certain formalities. We understand that this can often add to the pressures of organising a funeral, which is why we provide professional guidance.
Funeral procession at a woodland burial
Each person brought into our care will receive the same attention and treatment due to our 'care of the deceased' process.

We are proud of our experienced funeral operatives, arrangers and embalmers who provide the highest standards of care. From the service to the last goodbye, we ensure the deceased is tended to in accordance with the family's wishes.
Funeral flowers placed on coffin lid
We are thankful to the Hoxton community for allowing us to support them during their most difficult times. Whether we are working with care homes or advising local clergy, being part of Dignity means we are always ready to assist and put a little something back.
