What does a Dignity funeral director do?

Here at Chapman Medd Funeral Directors, we are sometimes asked what a funeral director does, or what a typical day for a funeral director really looks like.
We support the family...
Chapman Medd Funeral Directors are open 24 hours a day, with at least one funeral director remaining on call outside of normal opening hours. This means there will always be someone ready to meet the family and begin offering support, no matter what time they're needed.

We take care of everything we can for families, to help make a difficult time a little easier for them. We look after the administrative side of planning a funeral, such as paperwork and legal matters. We also care for those who have passed away with dignity and respect, allowing families to visit them in a chapel of rest if they wish. We take the greatest care to help guide families through their journey in the most sensitive way possible.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
In order to provide the most personal service possible, Chapman Medd Funeral Directors will take the time to get to know the family, and listen to every need and wish with careful consideration. If they would like us to tailor any details around their loved one's traits and passions, then we aim to do so.

As part of the support provided, our funeral directors will also help out with any administrative tasks that need taking care of. From guidance on what paperwork is required, to ensuring that it is completed correctly and, where necessary, within a timely manner.

The care Dignity funeral directors offer the departed is universal, with everyone receiving the same attentive treatment as part of our 'care of the deceased' process.

To ensure a loved one is looked after in accordance with the family's wishes, funeral arrangers, embalmers and operatives always perform their duties to the highest standards. From the moment a loved one comes into our care, through to the funeral service and final goodbye.
Funeral flowers placed on coffin lid
Chapman Medd Funeral Directors is thankful to the Easingwold community for allowing us to support them during their most difficult times.

From working with local care homes and training the clergy in funeral procedure, to advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means our funeral directors are always ready to assist and give a little something back.
