Our Unattended Funeral will best suit your needs if you want to arrange a simple and straightforward cremation without a service or ceremony, allowing you and your loved one's friends and family to commemorate them in your own way.
Choose from a variety of options, including headstones and urns to memorial plaques, vases, statues, jewellery and plenty more. With a Memorial, you can create a tribute that especially reflects the life, love and cherished memories of your loved one.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.

Never have I known a company that have gone above and beyond the way John bardgett have. Every member of the staff that we dealt with were exceptional in their role. Louise, Natalie, Joe, Lorraine and the team I didn't get to meet . Thank you for getting me through this awful time and giving my mam the send off she deserved. Thank you Jackie and family.
Never had to arrange a funeral before but family had used John Bardgett before so they were an obvious choice. Instantly knew we'd made the right choice when we met Lorraine who's job it was to guide us through the whole process and look after us on the day. She is one of those gems that you come across only rarely in life and I can't praise her highly enough. She obviously loves her job and has all the necessary skills to determine exactly how much support and help a family needs. A gentle nudge here and there as important decisions need to be made but we never felt rushed or railroaded into choosing one thing or another. She can also tell when it's appropriate to inject a little humour just to make the whole funeral planning process a little more human and less of an ordeal. On the day of the funeral everything went like clockwork but more than that, Lorraine went above and beyond involving our young grandson in a wonderful way. I strongly recommend using John Bardgett and Lorraine in particular, they were brilliant.
All we can say as a family is Thank you so much. Such a professional and caring company, from taking my Dad into their care until the very end of the service, the full team were amazing and made making arrangements a lot easier for the full family. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went above and beyond to make my Dads send off one he deserved,. We dealt with Louise, Lorraine and Joe they were all very professional and so compassionate. A special thank you to the lovely Kate Reed the celebrant of my dads service, you done an amazing job in helping us to celebrate my Dads life. Again thank you so much to the full team.
From picking my mother up out of hours to the beautiful ceremony performed by celebrant G, everything was handled perfectly with care and professionalism by louise and her team. Very happy with all aspects of the service. Everyone said it was lovely.
John Bardgett went above and beyond they helped me through one of hardest things I've ever had to do. Louise was amazing all the care she gave us and my late sister was immeasurable. I couldn't recommend them enough .I thank them all from the bottom of my heart ❤️
