What does a Dignity funeral director do?

We are often asked what a typical day looks like for a funeral director, here at W H Scott & Son.
We support the family ...
W H Scott & Son Funeral Directors is available 24 hours a day, with at least one funeral director remaining on call outside of normal opening hours. This means families will always be able to get in touch with whenever they need us.

Caring for the deceased is central to our role as funeral directors, but we also understand the importance of supporting those who are left behind. All of our funeral directors are dedicated to providing help and advice to those dealing with grief, guiding them through the funeral planning process and reassuring them in their time of need.
Supporting family members at a funeral service
To ensure that services are as meaningful and reflective of the deceased as possible, our funeral directors take time to understand who they were and what they meant to their loved ones. From this, we're able to make recommendations about the service and provide a truly personal celebration of life.

As part of the support our funeral directors offer to all families dealing with a bereavement, they also help out with the administrative side of organising a funeral, advising on how to complete paperwork correctly and on time.
Funeral procession at a woodland burial
The care our funeral directors offer the departed is universal. Every person that comes into our care receives the same attentive treatment as part of our 'care of the deceased' process.

Our team of funeral arrangers, embalmers and operatives always perform their duties to the highest standards, from the moment of collection through to the funeral service and final goodbye.
Funeral flowers placed on coffin lid
Our funeral directors are thankful to the community in Rubery for choosing W H Scott & Son to support them during their most difficult times.

Whether it's working with local care homes, training the clergy in funeral procedure, or advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means our funeral directors are always ready to assist the local communities that they work with.
