About our Kingstanding funeral home

Welcome to Hodgson & Sons Funeral Directors, where we take pride in providing the highest standards of funeral care and service in Kingstanding. Our funeral home can be easily accessed from Great Barr, Pheasey, Oscott, Upper Whitton and beyond. It is also only a ten-minute drive away from Birmingham Crematorium.

  • When someone dies, the first steps will depend on how and where the person passed away. Our step-by-step guides will walk you through the practical steps. For additional support and personal advice, please get in touch with us.


  • You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.


  • Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.


  • If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.


  • Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.

I would like to thank Hodgson & Sons for the excellent way in which they carried out the arrangements for my Aunt’s funeral on Thursday, 4th March 2021.
Trying to deal with the necessary arrangements at the hospital and the following procedures when you live seventy miles away is not easy, particularly with the current Covid restrictions. However, the help and understanding received throughout made it so much easier and I felt confident that my aunt was in safe hands
I must say a special thank you to Katherine for the way in which she kept me informed of progress in a gentle and sympathetic manner. From making the arrangements for the floral tribute, which was absolutely perfect, to the choice of music to enter and exit, which was very appropriate. The Webcast worked perfectly too and was appreciated by family unable to attend.

From the time they came to our house to collect my dad they were kind and courteous and this continued throughout our dealings with Hodgson & sons.Everything was explained and they were happy to talk us through any problems we encountered dealing with this sad time.It helped us all(family)that we had someone whom we could approach if needed.I thank all the staff for a very professional service.They made the best of a bad time which was really appreciated.

Mona at Hodgson and Sons took all the load of organising my uncle's funeral off me and I really appreciated it. From start to finish, everything was handled with extreme kindness and dignity, as it had been 12months prior to this at my mother's funeral. All staff were calmly professional, and even went the extra mile (literally) when my sister in law's handbag was inadvertently left in the funeral car!
