What does a Dignity funeral director do?

We are often asked what a typical day looks like here at Ravenhill, as well as "what does a funeral director do"?
Support the family ...
The role of a funeral director varies from week to week, so there is no such thing as a typical day. Someone remains on call 24 hours a day to offer support to the family during the early stages of their loss.

Ravenhill Funeral Directors understands that those left behind may need help during the process of organising a funeral. This is why advice and guidance is provided for families during this difficult time, to help ease the stress of coping with those initial few weeks after a loved one has passed away.

We will offer support to those experiencing loss and help them make the necessary decisions for the service.

Furthermore, in order to make recommendations as to how the funeral could reflect what the deceased might have wanted, our funeral directors will take the time to understand who they were and what they meant to the family. This is all part of the service Ravenhill Funeral Directors provides to the Belfast community it is proud to serve.

But it doesn't end there. As part of the support our funeral directors offer to every family dealing with the loss of a loved one, they also help out with the administrative side of bereavement. This includes guidance on what paperwork is required, along with advice to ensure it is completed correctly and, where necessary, within a timely manner.

Each person receives the same attentive treatment due to our 'care of the deceased' process, with experienced funeral arrangers and embalmers operating to the highest standards. This level of care is delivered consistently to make sure the deceased is tended to in accordance with the family's wishes, from the funeral service to the final goodbye.

Ravenhill Funeral Directors is thankful to the community here in Belfast for allowing us to support them during the most difficult of times. That is why one of our less recognised, but no less significant, duties is expressing our gratitude.

Whether it's working with local care homes, training the clergy in funeral procedure, or advising other public bodies on care for the deceased and bereaved, being a part of Dignity means our funeral directors are always ready to assist and put a little something back.
