When my Dad died in 2007, Laird & McMillan looked after his funeral arrangements. When my Mum died on 4th March, we turned to them first. We had a concern because my brother was due to go in for an operation on Saturday 21st and i was not sure that we could have a funeral within 2 weeks. However if the funeral did not take place before that, it could become a real issue.

From our first meeting with Jackie she put our concerns to rest with her quiet confidence that they could make this happen. And they did! She talked through different options but was careful to ensure we were able to make the choices that suited us. There was never any pressure to choose particular options but she also gave us good and helpful advice as to what might be the best options.

Our situation required leaving Clarkston for a burial in Gourock (home town to both my parents), in my Dad’s lair, then a return for a church service in their church in Clarkston.

Jackie dealt efficiently with all the arrangements including choice of coffin and flowers, viewing arrangements, liaising with the cemetery staff and transfer of the lair certificate from my Mum’s name to mine, linking with the church and minister, providing the order of service, etc, but leaving us to arrange the parts we wanted to.

On the day, Joe ensured everything went smoothly to plan in an efficient, friendly and respectful manner.

We were extremely happy with all the service given to us by all the staff of Laird and McMillan and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

From the very start we felt cared for and listened to. We dealt with Elaine, who was just very professional and mindful of our emotions at this sad time. Would highly recommend.
