About our Camborne funeral home

Colin Matthews Funeral Directors in Camborne provides the families of west Cornwall with compassionate funeral care. We are here to assist you in every way possible, helping to arrange a sensitive funeral following the sad loss of your loved one.

Having conducted our first funeral in 1986, we have served the local community here in Treswithian and Camborne ever since. The values of our founder continue to guide the high standard of service we offer you and your family and we would be honoured to take care of the funeral arrangements during this difficult time.

Our team of funeral directors will help to make things a little easier for you, providing professional support and offering comfort, as we tailor the funeral to the way you want it.

We specialise in every type of funeral, so regardless of your faith, cultural requirements and personal preferences, we will be able to help. From a traditional religious service to more contemporary woodland burials, we will ensure that every detail is in accordance with your wishes.

We have recently moved address and our Camborne funeral home can now be found at Camborne Business Centre in Treswithian, from where we offer funeral services to not only the local community, but also those in the surrounding area, such as Illogan, Mount Hawke, Pool and Portreath. If you are unable to make it to our premises, we are more than happy to visit you at home.

  • When someone dies, the first steps will depend on how and where the person passed away. Our step-by-step guides will walk you through the practical steps. For additional support and personal advice, please get in touch with us.


  • You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.


  • Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.


  • If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.


  • Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.

I cannot fault the service that was provided by Colin Matthews during this incredibly sad time for my family. We were looked after by the incredibly lovely gentleman named PETE who gave a complete seamless service. Pete himself was a very warm, empathetic person who offered time, nothing was rushed. He was not a 'hard sell' person, quite the opposite, Pete advised me on some money saving ideas, and put me in touch with an amazing florist 'Flowers by Diane' who I could not recommend any higher. Absolutely stunning flowers. The 'life celebrationist' gave the most heart touching and beautiful service , whilst Pete was there to support and guide us throughout. The day went perfectly and I cannot recommend this funeral directors any higher.
Aftercare was also provided to a high standard. Extremely compassionate with offer of support any time if I felt it was needed.
💯 % recommended.. thank you ALL at Colin Matthews in Camborne.. all showed genuine compassion. 🙏🌹

Alex was absolutely brilliant. Kind, helpful and respectful. Losing our mum to cancer was the hardest thing we’ve ever had to face and arranging her funeral was a daunting prospect, even though we knew it had to be done. Alex and his team, couldn’t have been better. All our questions and requests were answered and dealt with promptly. They made a truly horrible time in our lives, bearable and effortless. My elderly parents recently passed away, just three months apart and the care, empathy and dignity shown in caring for both my parents by our funeral director, Peter, was exemplary. Communication was excellent and efficient in all aspects of planning their funerals. Our wishes were all taken into consideration at all times. Time and patience were given, so we never felt rushed, despite having to meet deadlines, such as printing service sheets. At a time of grief the balance between compassion and a sense of humour was perfect.

I was treated with respect, kindness and thoughtfulness and care from the beginning to the end. Communication was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. I wish to give a very big Thank You to the team run smoothly for everything they did to make my friend Pat's funeral to run smoothly and for collecting her son from the care home in Liskeard. My Sister died on 2nd February 2022.
I had discussed with her which funeral director I should use, she recommended Colin Matthews. They had dealt with her late husband’s funeral.
From my first contact with Colin Matthews, I felt I had a weight taken off my shoulders. Everything possible was thought of by Helen.
We were treated with respect and understanding. I couldn’t fault the care my late sister and the family received.
The funeral took place during storm Eunice! This didn’t phase the team at Colin Matthews. The service was just as my sister had wanted.
