  • You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.


  • Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.


  • If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.


  • Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.

Obviously arranging a funeral is at a very emotional time, but I have to recommend Francis Chappell & Sons - all of our communications were very professional while also being compassionate. I could not have been more pleased at the way the staff handled all the arrangements. And the service I received, both in telephone communication and from the Funeral staff on the day of the Service was exemplary, and I do not hesitate in my recommendation of Francis Chappell & Sons Funeral Directors, Crawley.

After my initial phone call, Dignity took over, it was very reassuring to know that someone else was taking on the organising at a very difficult time. The staff kept us informed every step of the way and answered our questions. The service was obviously very emotional, but it was just as we had hoped and this helped to take away some of stress. The Covid safety rules were in place at all times which also helped. I would definitely recommend taking out a pre-planned funeral, as it is good to discuss what you would like and when you need to use it takes away some of the stress of a difficult situation.

Overall I was very pleased with the service I received, however there were a couple of admin errors which I had to point out. One was receiving an email addressed to my deceased mother, instead of me. The other was in the draft service sheet, another persons name was given within the text, instead of my mothers.

On the day I found the Funeral Director to be very attentive and helpful. It could not have gone more smoothly, considering the Covid 19 restrictions in place,

From the first telephone call they were always available for questions it was a smooth ride from start to finish. this included the coffin carriers who were very well presented and the yellow ties finished it the selabate we had was excellent she presented my father wonderfully all that is left to say is the order of service booklet was lovely everyone mentioned it saying the best they had ever seen all l can finish with is THANK YOU

Totally pleased. The staff I/we encountered were very professional, respectful and caring to our wishes and needs. The staff I dealt with were Cherrylyn Adlam and Karen Rubins-Lawrie (who also arranged/appointed the excellent Reverend Paul McMichael). On the day before (and the day of the funeral) James (surname not advised/known) was also brilliant. All were beyond reproach. Many thanks.

It’s very difficult not to use the name of one of your staff as she was awesome.
She went above and beyond to make a difficult time, made a million times harder by the coroner’s office, as easy as she could. I cannot fault the service we were given, from beginning to end everyone was kind, considerate and showed great compassion. My mum would have been chuffed to bits.

THIS DOES SEEM A VERY ODD CIRCUMSTANCE FOR LEAVING FEEDBACK, HOWEVER DEATH IS SADLY INEVITABLE!
THIS WAS MY FIRST INVOLVEMENT WITH HANDLING A FUNERAL AND ARRANGEMENTS, SO I WAS COMPLETELY AT A LOSS OF WHAT TO DO AND WHERE TO START.
HOWEVER FROM THE FIRST DEALINGS WITH FRANCIS CHAPPELL WE WERE PUT TOTALLY AT EASE, AN APPOINTMENT TO DISCUSS OUR EXACT REQUIREMENTS WAS MADE. THE WHOLE PROCESS WAS DEALT WITH FULL COMPASSION SYMPATHY AND UNDERSTANDING, WE WERE LEFT WITH FULL CONFIDENCE THAT EVERYTHING WAS DEALT WITH. THE DAY OF THE FUNERAL RAN BEAUTIFULLY WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS, WE WERE GUIDED POLITELY WHERE NECESSARY AND ADVISED IF REQUIRED. We used Francis Chappell to arrange my Grandad's funeral following a good experience with my Gran's funeral previously. Sadly, this experience couldn't have been more different. Despite having an appointment we were told that they were very busy and were kept waiting for 45 minutes. When the lady eventually appeared we were told that because she had been on annual leave, everything was in disarray, and she hadn't had time to read his file. She was unaware of where his body was (East Surrey mortuary) despite my father providing all the correct paperwork to allow the release and that the coroners office had already called their office to inform them my Grandad was available for collection. She then went into an unnecessary and lengthy monologue about Harold Shipman (!?) and made a wholly inappropriate 'joke' about transport in a wheelbarrow when asked if my Grandad would have a hearse to the crematorium included in the 'package' we had selected.
We were advised that we should submit our own Obituary to the local paper, which we did, only to be told that they could not accept them from the general public and it should come from the Funeral Directors!
I debated whether I should leave a public review but when my Father collected my Grandad's Ashes from the crematorium only to find that his ashes were in a plastic bag placed in a cardboard box and handed over in a carrier bag...my decision was made!
We shall NEVER be using them again, and would advise anyone else that they should be avoided in order bypass the emotional distress we encountered.
