The funeral arranged by Gibbs Funeral Directors was just as we wanted. Pam took every care to find out our wishes and the team took great care of our Aunty Gill. The arrangements all went to plan and we were very happy with the service.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars simply aren't enough!

On 30th August 2026, at 4.30pm, my precious Dad peacefully drifted into his forever sleep at home. He was a wonderful man who deserved a beautiful, dignified farewell. Dad had arranged his funeral through Dignity, with Gibbs Funeral Directors entrusted to carry out his final wishes.

Where do I begin to express my gratitude?

Our first contact was Alex and Amber, who came to bring Dad into their care. Having never lost a loved one at home before, I was frightened of what came next. From his first call, Alex was patient, professional and genuinely compassionate, gently explaining everything.

When Alex and Amber arrived, they were immaculately presented and so respectful towards my Mom and our family. But what touched me most was their tenderness towards Dad.

Letting Dad leave our family home was one of the hardest moments of my life. They allowed me to help prepare him for his final journey, never rushing me, giving me the time and dignity I needed to find the strength to let him go. Their beautiful hearts shone through in everything they did. Alex and Amber, I will never forget your kindness. ❤️

The following day, despite it being a Bank Holiday, Pam called us. What an absolute treasure! Gentle, knowledgeable and reassuring, she guided us through Dad's funeral plan, the additional services and every arrangement. Nothing was too much trouble. She answered our questions, kept us informed and made us feel genuinely cared for when our world had fallen apart.

Pam introduced us to our celebrant, Mitchell West. What a wonderful gentleman. He listened to our stories about Dad, understood his personality and captured the essence of the man we loved so dearly. His gentle manner and attention to detail helped give Dad the personal, meaningful farewell he deserved.

Then came the day we had all been dreading — Dad's final journey.

Every member of the Gibbs team was immaculate, respectful and compassionate. One gesture touched us deeply: the pallbearers wore West Bromwich Albion ties in honour of Dad's lifelong love for his football team. Such a thoughtful tribute, meaning more than words can say.

From bringing Dad home one final time to guiding us through his farewell, every detail was handled with dignity and care. We never felt like just another family or another funeral. We felt understood, supported and genuinely valued.

Would I recommend Gibbs Funeral Directors? Without hesitation, in every heartbeat.

To Alex, Amber, Pam, Mitchell, the pallbearers and everyone working behind the scenes: thank you for treating Dad with such tenderness and respect. Thank you for caring for my Mom and our family. And, from me personally, thank you for looking after me.

Losing Dad has been devastating. Nothing can take away that pain, but your compassion made a journey none of us wanted to take a little more bearable. Knowing my precious Dad was in the safest, kindest hands is something I will carry in my heart forever.

Five stars will never reflect my gratitude. You aren't simply exceptional at your jobs; you're exceptional human beings with truly beautiful hearts.

Thank you, each and every one of you, with all my heart. ❤️ xx
