Queen Street Chapel in Brynmawr

Since the 19th century, the chapel on Queen Street has been a part of our Brynmawr community. This became a part of T J Brown & Sons later the same year, with many developments made to make the chapel feel comfortable and welcoming for visitors. New central heating, disabled access and parking are a few of the more practical additions to the chapel.

Inside the building, the ceiling was renovated in order to preserve its beautiful original structure, which took over 100 hours of work to restore; something that is greatly admired by those who visit. The wood was brightened, the foyer was made bigger and the glass panels were made lighter. The chapel is a well-loved asset of T J Brown & Sons, being able to hold very large funeral services of up to 400 mourners.

Funeral Directors in Brynmawr and Blaenavon

Our Oaklands Funeral Home in Brynmawr has undergone extensive refurbishments over the years, in order to help it be as comfortable and accessible as possible to families in our care. The family room now offers a private, tastefully decorated seating area with refreshments, and the chapel of rest has also been renovated to make this a place of peace and solitude for loved ones to spend time with the deceased.

In 2011, T J Brown & Sons opened another funeral home in Blaenavon, which is set in the heart of the town centre.
